English Psychedelic band Raspberry Parade existed only for two years (from 1965 until the end of 1966) and none of their records were ever released. Despite this, the band played a major role in shaping the music of the late sixties:- Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Small Faces, The Stones; even The Beatles are said to have been influenced by the music of Raspberry Parade.
A handful of bootlegs did survive - and after forty years they continue to circulate among collectors (Prince is rumoured to own a rare original acetate). Dedicated fans in Britain and the USA have, for many years, been attempting to gather enough of the better quality recordings to reconstruct Raspberry Parade’s ‘lost’ 1966 album ‘Time is Honey’. The project is nearing completion, but there is still much work to be done.
UK musician Steve Marshall has spent the past year tracking down surviving Raspberry Parade recordings and negotiating the rights for a release. He now has enough good quality tracks for an album, but there are still a few legal problems to resolve. If you'd like to be updated as to Steve's progress, please join the mailing list!
